2022 Reflections

To the next leads

Team Dynamic

  • Was alright at the start - most were motivated and did their tickets (some slower than others due to less experience)

  • However especially halfway through T2 onwards, the team became less active + got harder to motivate

  • A suggestion for next leads is to set clear expectations at the beginning for workload and meetings + try keep up energy levels more consistently for the whole group

  • Try have more in person bonding eg in person meetings + dinner afterwards every now and then

Recruitment

  • Think about what you want your team to look like i.e. chill, energetic, cracked af or more of a learning experience

    • If you want to provide a learning experience for team members it might be a bit more difficult to keep everyone motivated throughout the year, so have a good plan for onboarding and support

  • We noticed this year that progress for those less experienced was significantly slower than more experienced ones - also keep this in mind when recruiting.

  • Make sure they’re committed

  • Feel free to be picky xd

Suggestions for future

  • Brainstorm with your co lead at the beginning of the year on what goals you want to achieve for the project and the timeline for each one.

  • Start doing sprints early so team members can get into the habit of knowing when their tickets
