Why do we need this?

Projects is shifting to a more experienced team from this year onwards in order to get things deployed and push out crazy new features. However, this neglects quite a large subset of CSESoc who are great but just lack the experience.

CSESoc is rapidly expanding and we lack any sort of pipeline in catering towards these trainees. Working in a team to create a project is one of the highlights of coding and we want everyone to have the chance to experience this.

Our initial plan 2022 Initiative - Developer Community had this in mind but was too large of a jump. Instead, we will start small and then gradually expand to this end goal.

Timeline

Before T1 - Plan program. Select some trainees for trial run.

T1 - Run pilot program. Can take anywhere between 3 weeks to 1 term. trainees properly join their Project teams afterwards.

T1 Holidays - Take on feedback. Can expand to more groups if successful. Can market at COMP1511 finishers. Look into combining with the trainee focused personal projects competition
