Visions

Our visions for the Training Program are that the program:

• Provides an introduction into web development, and the opportunity for all subcom members to improve their own skills

• Encourages an inclusive and welcoming environment where trainees are not afraid to ask questions and no gatekeep vibes

• Supports leads in developing their project management and software design skills

• Creates opportunities to get to meet new people with similar interests

• Provides hands on, interactive and engaging experience

• Maintains a consistent or improving program quality

• Motivates and equips individuals with the skills necessary to make meaningful contributions to flagship projects.

Goals

• Consolidate all workshop materials and exercises into one place

  • Trainee program website / linktree

• 80>% of trainees feel more comfortable with full stack web development after the program

• Have every group have SOMETHING to present (even if not entirely complete)

• At least 50% of groups presenting a noticeably polished product

• myExperience for trainees and leads (i want to keep some stats)

• Improve and maintain a balance in diversity ratios for trainees

  • Gender → A minimum of 40% females

  • international/domestic students → A minimum of 20% international students

  • Possible end of term/year trainee presentation including prizes

• 3 program wide bonding events each term

  • Induction

  • Week 6 Field Day

  • End of term showcase
