Breaks

Please please please take breaks, reach out to your team leads and let them know if you are feeling burnt out. We actually discussed forcing people to take breaks but we decided to let you communicate it to your team leads.

Person 1 - Hi I’m feeling a bit burnt out and I have 2041, 2511, 3821 (clearly this person didn’t read CSElectives reviews!!!) due W7. Can I take it chill for the next 2 weeks?

Person 2 - *afks *no communication *

Retiring

If you ever feel like you want to focus on other things, please give someone else the opportunity to code. We do rolling recruitments termly!

It does not reflect badly on you, we have had several people go down this route (active team members and even an active former team lead!).

Expectations

Now that we are actively encouraging breaks, it is hard to say “You must do X hours every week”. Instead, you should be able to say the following with confidence:

As long as your actions back up those words, everything is good! Otherwise please think about giving someone else a chance.
