2023 Dev Offboarding
Hi everyone! The Dev End of Year Showcase (W10 Saturday, 18/11) is the last event of the year, and will also act as your official offboarding. This doc will outline what exactly this offboarding means, for all members of the internal team.
Offboarding means your year in CSESoc Dev is complete after the Dev Showcase - the 2023 teams will officially cease being teams from that point on. It will be our final goodbye 👋
More specifically, this refers to a couple of things changing/going away…
Permissions
Over the next few days, the following services will be deactivated for you, as the 2024 exec and directors transition into their roles:
Google Workspace (email accounts, Google Drive, GCal etc.)
Atlassian Suite (Confluence, Jira)
Access to the CSESoc GitHub organisation (push permissions as director)
BitWarden (CSESoc account passwords)
YouTube
Facebook and Social Medias
If you need continued access to any of these services after 18/11, please reach out to the 2024 DevSoc executive or Winnie and let them know how long you need your CSESoc account for.
If you are planning to “stay in Dev” (i.e. join DevSoc in 2024 as an internal team member), you will still lose access to these items containing your 2023 data, since all of this is associated with CSESoc. Please make sure to save/migrate everything you need before the offboarding date, or contact exec if you need more time!
Work + handovers
Your team will officially “stop existing” after the offboarding event. This means that you should not be starting any new work in an official capacity after the cutoff date. If you do want to contribute after this point, it will be unofficial and up to the discretion of the new 2024 executives and directors.
While your team is offboarding, the 2024 equivalent to your team will be starting up - if you are a 2023 director, please prioritise handing over all of your knowledge and existing work to the new directors, to ensure they start off strong in 2024.
If you are a subcom/training program (lead/trainee) member and you have some pieces of knowledge you want to pass on to next year’s team, please write it down somewhere so it doesn’t get lost.
Discord server
For the time being, you will lose your existing roles (and therefore may lose access to some channels), and gain all corresponding “alumni” roles. For example, a Notangles subcom member will get the “Notangles alumni” role, and a director will get the “former director” role.
If you want to know what is happening with the CSESoc Development server in 2024, please contact the 2024 DevSoc executive.
Keep in touch and express gratitude!
Last but not least, please stay in touch with us and each other You’ve made connections in this year, it’d be a shame to lose it! Also, don’t forget to thank the people who have made your time and experience in DevSoc enjoyable
We would love to know about your time here at DevSoc so we can continue to improve in future years. Please fill out this quick feedback form: https://forms.gle/N2w9VLzeW1BgxW5y8
It’s been a great year, and we literally couldn’t have done all of the things we did without you rocking up to events, writing lines of code, drafting up designs in Figma, filming videos, planning bonding events, training up others and running workshops. In advance, thank you all for so many memories in 2023, and 2024 is only going to get better
From the 2023 exec, goodbye and thank you!
