DevSoc 2024 Subcommittee Recruitment Process
Overview
Hi Directors, the purpose of this memo is to provide you an idea of how our recruitment process will work during the interview process.
1. Application Acceptance Period
Until Sunday 25th February
As you know, we have been receiving applications this past week and will continue to do so into the coming week.
- Please continue helping out with marking backend/frontend applications and leaving scores on the associated sheet.
All technical marking should be complete within 24 hours of application close.
2. Application Consideration Period
Between Sunday 25th February and Tuesday 27th February
Directors will need to decide who they want to interview. The process of awarding interviews will be guided by the following principles:
Candidate preference is not supreme. Consider who you would like and the skillsets you would like.
Interviewers should be from portfolios with a probable chance of making the candidate an offer. If your portfolio has proportionally a lot of candidates, we will spread out the candidates amongst other portfolios for interviewing.
Every director should do a similar number of interviews proportional to their desired team size, regardless of how many applicants they received.
HR, Marketing, UI/UX and Platforms will hold separate interviews to Projects. If a candidate has applied for both, they may need to sit more than one interview.
Trainees may apply for subcommittee though they will need to be held to the same standard as other applicants. Trainees will not need to do substantive work until the conclusion of their T1 program - to be discussed with their respective directors.
- We will ask you to provide a list of candidates you would like to interview.
- Please provide your availabilities to conduct interviews here. Please indicate whether it is a IRL (Green) /online (Yellow) availability.
We will then release an interview schedule.
If there is a candidate that you really want and you have not been scheduled an interview with them AND it is your preference to meet them rather than to rely on recordings/notes, you may ask us to reach out and they may interview with you as well.
Interview scheduling and confirmation between Wednesday 28th February and Sunday 3rd March
3. Interview Period
Monday 4th March to Wednesday 13th March
There will be nightly virtual interview slots as well as both Saturday and Sunday in person slots.
You will be provided the relevant sheet to fill in your observations from the interview. That sheet will also contain questions you may ask.
- Please record virtual interviews/voice record in person interviews.
- We will ask you to approve/contribute to the list of interview questions.
